A common vision
UNICEF and the European Commission Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Department (ECHO) have been helping children and women in emergencies since ECHO's founding in 1992.
DG ECHO is one of UNICEF's most important donors. Each year it provides more than € 50 million to UNICEF to help countries prepare for and respond to disasters. This aid is targeted towards children and women.
As the challenges of providing humanitarian aid grow ever more complex, ECHO and UNICEF remain committed to their common vision: providing the most effective aid to women and children in need.
