UNICEF works towards the reduction of child mortality and morbidity by reducing malnutrition and preventing related diseases through the Enhanced Outreach Strategy (EOS) for Child Survival.

UNICEF works nationwide to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS among infants, children, youth & women and promote social behavioral changein collaboration with the Ethiopian Government and other partners.
Immunization plus
UNICEF supports the eradication of polio and measles, promotes, vitamin A supplementation and the Elimination of Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus.
Child protection
UNICEF promotes birth registration, emergency protection measures, including child reunification in drought-stricken areas, and initiatives regarding child labour, street children and child abuse.
Water, environment and sanitation
UNICEF works nationally to enhance water supply and sanitation coverage with the objective of reducing mortality and morbidity due to water and sanitation-related diseases.
