Donor Update - 4 August 2004Armed clashes continue to increase the vulnerability of affected populations and force the displacement of civilians. Seven thousand children remain enrolled in non-state armed entities, and many more are at risk from landmines. While UNICEF is thankful to the generous donor contributions received to date, funds are still needed to support activities for mine risk education, protection of child soldiers and prevention of further recruitment, and humanitarian relief for displaced children.
