High level discussion on the multidimensional approach to poverty reduction in Egypt
A roundtable discussion on the”policy implications of a multi-dimensional approach to poverty reduction in Egypt “was held under the auspices of the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Centre (IDSC), The State Ministry of Family and Population, The National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
The discussion focused on two main publications including the Equitable Development Observatory (EDO) First Periodical which monitors inequality of human well-being indicators in Egypt. In addition to, a report on “Trends of Child Poverty and Disparities in Egypt between 2000 and 2008”. The trends report which is jointly supported by Egypt National Child Rights Observatory (ENCRO) and UNICEF analysis disparities in Egypt based on a multi-dimensional notion of child poverty.
