Diners Club- UNICEF Alliance
Seven years ago, Diners Club and UNICEF forged an alliance aimed at contributing to the improvement of rural education in Ecuador. Diners Club decided to take this course because it was aware that it was only by improving Ecuadorian education that we could transform society and the country and make it a better place to live. There is much to be done and developed in Ecuadorian education. That is why it is pressing for Ecuadorian society (individuals, state institutions, nongovernmental organizations and private enterprise) to make all the necessary efforts to contribute to improving education because the task before us is indeed daunting. In Ecuador, we still have severe problems of exclusion in the school system, as it is estimated that 450,000 children and young people are still outside the system. Furthermore, those who do have access to the system must cope with low-quality education, evidence of which can be found in the scores obtained in the “Aprendo” academic performance tests.
