EibAmaz: bilingual education in the Amazon region of Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia

UNICEF, the National Direction for Bilingual Intercultural Education (DINEIB) and the government of Finland launched in Quito the Regional Andean Project of Bilingual Intercultural Education for the Amazon Region (EIBAMAZ).  The project will work in three countries: Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.

EIBAMAZ
EIBAMAZ aims to improve the educational levels of Amazonic populations, with the support of the Finnish government. The project will train teachers in interculturality, investigation applied to intercultural bilingual education, and production of texts in indigenous languages, which will be used in for education.  Identity, environment, local participation and gender equality will be introduced within the education programmes.
