Working with indigenous children on their rights

Look into my eyes

Look into my eyes

...and tell me if you can strive to make of Ecuador a country the size of our dreams.

This is the motto of a campaign that we, children and youth like yourself, have launched in Ecuador.  This year we will have elections for a new President and other authorities, and we want all who are running for office, to know what kind of country we want.  So we drafted our agenda, and we gave it to them.

In the agenda ther is:

- Quality education for all , free of charge for our families

- Basic health services for all

- Protection and attention for us, against all forms of violence or menace to our rights

- Participation, to ensure we are formed as citizens who watch and demand their rights

- National and local budgets to finance the system and policies that protect us.

Once the President is elected, we will watch him or her, to see if he follows our Agenda. We want to live in a country that keeps its promises and looks on us with pride and hope.

We are the Movement of Children and Adolescents of Ecuador, and a number of organisations, like UNICEF, support our effort and our Agenda.
