Early Childhood

ECD Research

Recent neuroscience research on brain development and function has validated the importance of quality early interaction between a young child and her/his immediate environment. These early experiences create a foundation for lifelong learning and productivity. There is a wealth of evidence from the developed world on successful early childhood development interventions and the benefits to individuals and society at large by investing in such interventions. However, there is an urgent need to generate new evidence from the developing world that will inform innovative advocacy initiatives to convince policy-makers to act on, and reinforce the rationale for investment in early childhood.
