Deadline September 13, 2009. Click for more details. Send all entries to kanitha.kong@gmail.com.

The Award is made each year to the best television programming on children’s rights produced in the Asia-Pacific region. It recognises the efforts of broadcasters in pursuing both the production of top quality children’s programming and better news coverage of children’s issues. There is only one category and one winner. Programmes both for children and about children are eligible and can cover any child rights’ issue. Entries can include documentaries that detail the plight of children, dramas that help break down stereotypes and discrimination, or animation that teaches and entertains. ICDB is a day when broadcasters around the world "Tune in to Kids". They air quality programming for and about children. But most of all, they allow children to be part of the programming process, to talk about their hopes and dreams and share information with their peers. Every year, thousands of broadcasters in more than a hundred countries take part in the day, celebrating it in ways that are as unique and special as children themselves.
