1. PURPOSE OF THE POST
Under the overall direction of the head of Child survival section and under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Specialist, contribute to the management (implementation, monitoring and evaluation and coordination) of the nutrition interventions in Southern Zone with a special focus on the integrated IYCF in Katanga in close collaboration with the consultant of the project.
2. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate project monitoring and evaluation activities with partners, and Kipushi/Kasenga/Lubumbashi based stakeholders (e.g Health Zone team, Pronanut, PARSS/IRC, World Vision, Public Health School of Lubumbashi, National Statistics Institute of Katanga, CDC, UNICEF)
Collaborate with project coordinator to develop strong relationships with the head of Health District, the head of health zone and his team, the team of health center and community leaders to ensure successful implementation of the IYCH/LNS intervention
Set up the monitoring and evaluation system to collect data on project activities and check stock of supply at all level to prevent stock out
Ensure the timely delivery of materials and supplies, cash assistance, other services for programme/project implementation and manage the budget of the project
Ensure monitoring and evaluation of the project activities; this involves frequent visits in the intervention area
Contribute to the implementation of nutrition program in the Southern zone
Draft the donors reports
Any other task assigned by the supervisor
3. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Advanced university degree on nutrition or health
Three (3) years of experience in nutrition programme planning, management and evaluation.
Fluency in French
Research experience is desired
Knowledge of English is desirable
Ability to work in a team, cope under stressful and difficult conditions
Flexible team player able to forge consensus
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-culturally with diverse teams
Ability to take initiatives
Effective networking and interaction with partners
Good knowledge of computer management and applications.
