UNICEF’s commitment to children’s rights is fundamental to its mission – a commitment enhanced by the Convention in 1989.

2009: the 20th anniversary
"For Every Child" is a UNICEF program that highlights the importance of realizing children's rights from the CRC  
The four-and-a-half-minute video is set to "Lullaby, The UNICEF Anthem" composed and produced by UNICEF Canada Ambassador Steve Barakatt. The orchestral piece, released to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, features a variety of UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, world renowned artists and other supporters.

The Iraq Children's Appeal, crafted by and for young people, was launched in Baghdad as part of a special project between UNICEF and the non-governmental organization Al-Amal to help promote a culture of children's rights in Iraq.
