International partnerships: Biotherm

In 2002, the international skincare company, Biotherm made a commitment to help UNICEF ensure a steady supply of clean water by launching Life Springs from the Source. Initiated in Benin and Cambodia, Life Springs from the Source has expanded to include China, Korea and Argentina. Biotherm and UNICEF staff have come together to build wells and sanitation facilities.

In addition to involving local villagers in every phase of the project, from choosing the location of the well to establishing priorities to managing the installations, UNICEF and Biotherm support the training of villagers in pump maintenance as well as basic hygiene and water usage ensuring a sustainable high-quality water supply.
