UNICEF's corporate partnerships
Ecuador - Niño Esperanza
![]() |
In 2003, the Niño Esperanza Telethon was broadcast live from three major cities in Ecuador: Quito, Guayaquil and Cuenca. More than 35 local artists participated, and the television programme included taped messages of support from Isabel Allende and other well-known Latin American artists and intellectuals. This was the first such multi-city event ever transmitted in Ecuador.
Major local corporate donors included the Bank of Guayaquil, Odebrecht, La Cemento Nacional and Kelloggs.
The telethon promoted close links with major UNICEF advocacy themes in Ecuador, including the current public policy work, issues of child labour, family education, emergencies, and child-rights themes in general.
