世界人民支持儿童

7岁的塞缪尔#冈萨雷斯和他9岁的哥哥丹尼尔发誓支持“支持儿童”活动。

实现儿童权利的工作获得了强有力的支持。从2001年4月到2002年5月，仅仅一年多的时间里，就有190多个国家约9千5百万人许诺支持联合国儿童基金所发起的“支持儿童”运动，并签署了有关儿童发展的10项呼吁：不放弃任何一个儿童；儿童第一；关爱每一个儿童；防治艾滋病；停止伤害和剥削儿童；倾听儿童的声音；教育每一个儿童；保护儿童免受战争伤害；为了儿童保护地球；对抗贫穷。这些诺言都被记录下来，全部内容由南非前总统、著名人道主义者纳尔逊#曼德拉于2002年5月提交给联合国大会特别会议。

这个“支持儿童”运动是由全球儿童运动倡议的。根据《吉尼斯世界纪录大全》，该项运动是世界上迄今为止最大的请愿运动。
