儿童在尼泊尔团结协议中发挥了关键作用

在尼泊尔举行的仪式上，儿童们唱起传统的欢迎和团结的歌曲迎接政界人士。

尼泊尔加德满都，2008年3月25日。虽然尼泊尔再度发生暴力事件，儿童权利却受到了有史以来最高水平的保护。

3月20日，就在几天前，联合国宣布下个月进行的选举因候选人遭暗杀而陷入僵局，各方的政界人士齐聚首都，为儿童举办一个特殊的活动。

尼泊尔的政党代表签署了一项对儿童承诺的联合声明，承诺“国家确保提供资源，在可能的条件下，最大限度地满足儿童基本需要和权利的实现。”

许多尼泊尔的政界人士聚集一堂，签署一份协议，保证在该国的新宪法中满足儿童的基本权利。

所有的政党都表示已经准备好参加尼泊尔历史性的国民代表大会选举，并被邀请签署联合声明。

“政界人士在这个过程中发挥了真正的作用，”活动的主持人，前联合国儿童基金会副执行主席库尔.高特说。“尽管经历了痛苦和分歧，重要的是所有尼泊尔人都认识到了这点，特别是政治代表们明白必须培育和保护我们的孩子 — 当然，他们是我们的未来。”

尼泊尔的未来

该仪式 — 儿童和政治家们同台 — 是由联合国儿童基金会、拯救儿童联盟和为儿童俱乐部工作的各类组织联盟及尼泊尔各派政党共同组织的。

前联合国儿童基金会副执行主席库尔.高特和两位年轻的发言人一起向政界人士发表讲话。

儿童们表演了一首欢迎的歌曲，然后表达了他们对制定国家新宪法的看法。政界人士和儿童们携手合作，共同作出承诺把儿童放在“描绘尼泊尔未来”的第一位。

各个参加活动的政党签署了联合声明，从中可略见政治权力的统一曙光，也许从中更昭示了尼泊尔的未来。
