出生登记日帮助孟加拉国保证基本人权

通过办理出生证，纳斯亚可以得到很多基本权利的保证，例如受教育和医疗的权利。

2007年7月9日，孟加拉国达卡。孟加拉国政府上周正式庆祝全国出生登记日，以强调出生证对成人和儿童的重要性。在联合国儿童基金会的支持下，7月3日当天由当地政府部门以及其他各方在达卡奥斯曼尼纪念堂进行了庆祝登记的活动。

刚刚为新生女儿纳斯亚登记的家长沙巴楠.沙哈纳说：“出生证不仅仅是得到基本服务所必需的文件，还是儿童幸福和安全的关键。”

30岁的马福咋.苏塔纳说，直到近期她都没有觉得有必要拥有出生证。不过因为她的工作是登记助理，她觉得她应该按照自己所倡导的去做。苏塔纳女士是这次活动中接受出生证的十名成人和儿童中的一个。

一位母亲从当地政府和农村发展顾问穆罕德.安沃如.伊克巴尔那里接到她新生女儿的出生证。

基本权利

孟加拉国近期规定，获得某些公共服务，如教育和免疫和行使选举权必须持有出生证。出生证从而将保证很多孟加拉国国民的基本权利。

政府将推出免费出生登记直至2008年7月。

联合国儿童基金会驻孟加拉国副代表罗斯拉#莫热丽说：“我们需要大声疾呼和广泛地解释直至2008年年中出生登记都是免费的。出生登记是与生俱来的人权，是保证一个人名字和国籍在法律上的第一步。”

“社会运动”的需要

孟加拉国现在的出生登记率为百分之七至十。在联合国儿童基金会和名为计划孟加拉的非政府组织等合作伙伴的帮助下，政府正尽力将这个数字大幅度地提高。

当地政府和农村发展顾问穆罕德.安沃如.伊克巴尔强调，媒体以及教师和宗教领袖在传播出生登记信息方面有他们的责任，尤其是在农村地区。他还强调了得到捐助者、非政府组织和所有其他发展合作伙伴支持的重要性。

伊克巴尔先生说：“我们需要发起一场社会运动来达到我们的目标，幸运的是，我们并不是孤军奋战。”
