Goodwill Ambassadors
UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors are celebrities with a demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of children. They use their fame to focus attention on children worldwide, get support from the public and leading decision-makers, and raise urgently needed funds for vital UNICEF programs. The long list of past Goodwill Ambassadors includes Danny Kaye and Audrey Hepburn. Today, the roster of distinguished screen stars includes Whoopi Goldberg, Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, and Sir Roger Moore.

Lang Lang
Chinese piano virtuoso Lang Lang has been appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, focusing on child survival and immunization issues.

He joins a long list of UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors who travel the world on behalf of children.

“I am honored to be taking my place among such renowned champions for children, and I am excited to begin doing what I can to help bring the world's attention to children's pressing needs,” said Lang Lang.

Lang Lang has played with all the major American orchestras and was the first Chinese pianist engaged by the Berlin Philharmonic.

Jackie Chan
Martial arts film star Jackie Chan fights HIV/AIDS as a regional Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).

The Hong Kong–based actor is interested in advancing children's rights, especially children affected by armed conflict.

“UNICEF is delighted that Jackie Chan has signed up to be a Goodwill Ambassador. His worldwide fame and popularity will assist UNICEF enormously in its work for children,” said Carol Bellamy, Executive Director of UNICEF.
