Impact and Achievements
The UNICEF-supported Knowledge, Advocacy and Plan of Action for Children Project provide supports to child development in China from policy and social environment prospective. • The Government of China hosted the 5th East Asia and Pacific Region Ministerial Consultation Conference in Beijing in 2001. China has also delivered reports to the 6th and the 7th Ministerial Consultations in 2003 (in Bali, Indonesia) and 2005 (in Siem Reap, Cambodia). • Through focused training activities, the capacity of the staff of NWCCW and NBS at national, provincial and county level to deal in monitoring implementation of the NPA has been strengthened. • The UNICEF-supported Child Information Website, which provides the best and most reliable source of information about children in China has become an essential medium for dissemination of child-related policies, knowledge and action. • The NPAInfo database and software provides an effective technical platform for data distribution and presentation. • The results from research and survey projects have led to the national policy development on migrant children, and the new initiative in child injury prevention.
