MINSK, Belarus - October 15, 2010 - The final day of the OneMinutesJr workshop has come and we need to be ready with all the films before lunch as the first group of participants from a more remote region in Belarus will leave Minsk in the early afternoon.

The participants need to fill in the participation form so they will take part in the annual OneMinutesJr competition where they can win a camera while we fill in the certificates for them and finish up the last films. Names of the makers have to be added, titles, subtitles on some of the movies and there are still a couple of films that need a bit of editing.

But, with a short delay, we are ready at 11.30 AM and the presentation can go ahead! Happy faces everywhere, even though some of the films are quite sad, but the fact of seeing all the films back-to-back after so much work simply makes everybody smile.

In the afternoon it's all over - well, not quite yet. Together with Andrei from the Communication Section of UNICEF Belarus and Ksenia, one of the participants, I was invited to participate in a 30-minute TV interview at the office of the most popular Belorussian web portals, tut.by. The interview is very interesting and it is great to have half an hour to talk about the OneMinutesJr and the aims of the project.

To round things off, the European Broadcasting Union has promised to UNICEF Belarus that they will consider showing the best of the films produced here by the Belorussian teenagers during the upcoming broadcast of the Junior Eurovision Contest 2010 which takes place in Minsk in November. This would even top the half hour on tut.by, because it would instantly reach millions of people across Europe. And after all, that is the aim of the OneMinutesJr project.
