5th National Youth Forum takes place in Varzob, Tajikistan
Dushanbe, August 13, 2007 - The 5th National Youth Forum creates an opportunity for children and young people to participate in discussions on the impact of better access to education.
The 7-day forum taking place in Varzob from August 13-19 gives 100 children from various parts of the country the chance to discuss, debate and suggest ways by which they could be involved more in society in general and how they can advocate for their right to education more successfully. The topic was screened from different aspects related to education, e.g. gender, child labor, healthy life style and children with disabilities.
As a highly important side effect, the forum proves to be a broad and solid platform for experts from the International Labour Organization (ILO), the National Healthy Life Center, the Information Human Rights Center and the President’s Office of Tajikistan to update participants on the available ways to proceed and improve the education system and to understand the rights and the role of children and young people to participate in the reform processes.
Based on the discussions, the participants will come up with recommendations on how to improve access to education for all children inTajikistan. The recommendations will be officially submitted to the National Commission on Child Rights, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister.
