SARAJEVO, 20 August 2013 - A special guest of this year’s Sarajevo Film Festival, famous actor and UNICEF’s international goodwill ambassador Danny Glover supports the campaign “It’s about ability”, launched by UNICEF, the EU Delegation to BiH and USAID, in order to raise awareness and change attitudes and actions of general public towards children with disabilities and their families.

As a part of this event, Danny Glover, together with UNICEF’s Representative Florence Bauer, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the EU Delegation to BiH Renzo Daviddi, and USAID Acting Mission Director, Steven Majors, played special dodge ball game with children with and without disabilities as a part of Youth Sports Games finals today in Sarajevo.

A month and a half since it was launched, the campaign about children with disabilities “It’s about ability” is already recognized in the society thanks to many activities conducted in cooperation with new partners.

In August, Youth Sports Games and Special Olympics in Bosnia and Herzegovina recognized the importance of the campaign and supported it promoting the abilities of children with disabilities. BiH football stars - UNICEF Ambassador Edin Dzeko, Ambassador of the Youth Sports Games Miralem Pjanic, and Ambassador of the BiH Special Olympics Asmir Begovic, played a special goal ball game together with children with and without disabilities.

During the event UNICEF Representative in BiH Florence Bauer and Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the EU Delegation to BiH Renzo Daviddi both called for recognition of abilities of children rather than disabilities and invited all potential partners to join the campaign.
