Miracle, Smoke and Dreams: Voices of young Turkmen filmmakers

Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, 25 May 2007

The following are a selection of videos made by young people from the National Institute of Culture and the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan during a week-long “One Minutes Jr Video” workshop organized by UNICEF and the Ministry of Culture and TV and Radio Broadcasting of Turkmenistan.

As can be seen in the powerful videos, participants gained a sense that their opinions and concerns do matter and that they have a right to voice them.

These films will later be launched at the National Children’s Forum dedicated to Child Protection Day and will also be broadcast on national TV.
