OneMinutesJr workshop in Karakol - Day 5by Chris Schuepp
KARAKOL, Kyrgyzstan, 7 March 2014 - Wrapping up a OneMinutesJr workshop with the presentation of all produced films is always a great event and that is also true today here in Karakol near Lake Issyk Kul in Kyrgyzstan.
The morning is relatively calm since most of the films are finished. Some more subtitles need to be done, the participation forms are being filled in by the participants and the trainers write the certificates for the 14 girls and 6 boys from the region who produced their films this week.

The visitors from NGOs, local media and the local administration are full of praise after the premiere of the videos. The call the workshop "timely and necessary" and repeatedly applause the children for bringing up these issues around water & sanitation in their films. A copy of the DVD goes to the local TV station and the journalists promise to use some of the films in their next news show and spread the messages of the children throughout the region.
Two weeks in Kyrgyzstan come to an end for the trainers - exciting days full of challenges but even more rewards in form of stories shared, videos produced and messages spread.
