OneMinutesJr workshop in Bulgaria - Day 5
STARA ZAGORA, Bulgaria, 2 September 2011 - The clock is ticking down and we only have a few hours left before the final presentation of all 15 films produced at the workshop this week here in Stara Zagora.
Some of the children still need to find titles for their films, translations have to be made and subtitles inserted. Also, all participants fill in the application forms so their films can be put on the OneMinutesJr website as well as qualify for this years OneMinutesJr Award which will see the 2011 winners beig announced at the end of the year.
In the early afternoon, everything is finished and some of the parents and friends of the young filmmakers have gathered in the NGO premises in the Roma mahala to watch the premiere of the films together with the participants. Every single films gets a big hand from the audience and when the certificates of participation are handed out, you can see smiles everywhere.
It was a challenging week and we all have learned a lot about the lives of young Roma teenagers in Stara Zagora with all the good sides and the bad sides. Now it's time to take their voices into the world and show the films to as many people as possible, raise eyebrows, start discussions and try to spark positive change through these OneMinutesJr videos.
