OneMinutesJr workshop in Bulgaria - Day 4
STARA ZAGORA, Bulgaria, 1 September 2011 - Day four of the OneMinutesJr workshop in Stara Zagora and we have three out of fifteen films left to shoot and a lot of editing in front of us. Today we split up in groups again with the three trainers Kristina (from Estonia) and Nadine and Chris (both from Germany) each taking one group of children out for the filming. Demir (14) goes to the downtown area of Stara Zagora where he usually feels alienated. As a Roma boy growing up in the mahala Losinets up the hill from the center, he does not come here very often. "The Bulgarians don't treat us very well, they say nasty thinks to us like "You are ugly gypsies" and so on. I think this needs to change." His film might be a first step, because Demir is going to show his feelings in it and call for more tolerance and understanding.
After all films are shot, the editing process takes center stage. Since we are just back from filming for Demir's video, we capture the material immediately and edit it straight-away. So, even before the world premiere tomorrow in Stara Zagora at the closure of the workshop, here's a sneak preview at the first film of the workshop.
