Effective monitoring and evaluation are critical to identify inequities, inform policies and programmes as well as to measure achievements. In UNICEF evidence is essential to define the focus of our engagement for children.
UNICEF measures the situation of children and women and tracks progress through data collection and analysis. It maintains and updates global and regional databases and promotes the disseminatin of evidence-based data for planning and advocacy.UNICEF is the lead United Nations agency responsible for the global monitoring of child-related Millennnium Development Goals.

GENEVA, 24 July 2012 — The first “Evaluation Brief” in the region focuses on UNICEF - DIPECHO`s Disaster Risk Reduction. The programme aims to increase resilience and reduce vulnerability of local communities and national institutions mainly through disaster mitigation and preparedness activities within the education sector in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.Click here to download the pdf.
