Facts for Life: The handbook provides vital messages and information for mothers, fathers, other family members and caregivers and communities to use in changing behaviours and practices that can save and protect the lives of children and help them grow and develop to their full potential. This version of Facts for Life builds on the three previous editions, which have been helping families and communities around the world since 1989. Newborn Health has been added to the Safe Motherhood chapter, giving attention to child survival from the first stage of life. A new chapter, Child Protection, has been included, focusing attention on the actions needed to ensure children grow up in protective environments. Facts for Life is a joint effort of UNICEF, WHO, UNESCO, UNFPA, UNDP, UNAIDS, WFP and World Bank.

Involving People, Evolving Behaviour: This book, jointly produced by Southbound and UNICEF, is aimed at people who are involved in designing, implementing and monitoring social sector programmes and projects for developing and disadvantaged communities, anywhere in the world. Communication Handbook for Polio Eradication and Routine EPI: This Handbook provides programme officers with guidelines and a framework to design and implement research-driven communication programs that will strengthen all aspects of EPI ( supplemental campaigns, routine immunization and disease surveillance). It offers a menu of ideas, strategies and tools from which programme officers can select according to their country-specific reality, in order to accelerate polio eradication and strengthen routine EPI. The Handbook has been developed by UNICEF and WHO in a team effort with EPI communication focal points in ministries of health and polio partners.

Building Trust and Responding to Adverse Events following Immunisation in South Asia using Strategic Communication: This working paper synthesizes key learnings from a joint regional workshop organised by the UNICEF Regional Office for South Asia in New Delhi, 2004, to develop communication capacity specifically around adverse events following immunization (AEFI). The paper aims to promote better planned and implemented strategic communication around AEFI to maintain public trust in childhood immunization and help realize children's rights to life, survival and development.

Coordinated Strategy to Abandon Female Genital mutilation/Cutting in One Generation: This technical note presents an in-depth examination of the research documented by UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre on female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) to provide a more comprehensive understating of FGM/C as a form of social convention. Its focus is on the social dynamics of this harmful practice at the community level and it specifically applies game theory to the social dynamics of FGM/C.
