At Kratie Referral Hospital a dried blood spot sample is collected from an HIV- exposed baby for early infant diagnosis

The Korean Committee for UNICEF has supported UNICEF Cambodia’s efforts to help Cambodia’s progress towards elimination goal of mother to child transmission of HIV of less than 3 per cent. With the generous support of the Korean National Committee, UNICEF Cambodia has been able to deliver the following results:  assisting 31,698 pregnant women to know their HIV status and 95 HIV-infected pregnant women received ARV treatment or prophylaxis for their own health and to reduce the risk of transmission to their babies. In addition, 97 infants received lifesaving ARV and antibiotic prophylaxis (cotrimoxazole).
