The executives of key enterprises are making a call to all Bolivians to help the victims of the flooding disasters in Beni, who will receive support in the form of money, food, equipment and medicines.

La Paz – Bolivia, February 14, 2008.- The BISA Financial Group and Multimedia Communications Group joined with UNICEF last night for the second year running to launch the campaign entitled “Solidarity Bolivia, Because It Is Time to Help”. The purpose of the campaign is to collect funds, medicines and food in benefit of the children who are suffering from the disasters caused by the La Niña phenomenon in Beni.

The bank itself has started the ball rolling with its own donation of Bs 500,000.

“We couldn’t just stand by impassively and watch the images that we have seen; they are really shocking. I really feel that we have to act quickly,” states Daniel Cruz, Corporate Manager of the ATB television network and of La Razón and Extra newspapers, who, together with Pacheco, kicked off the campaign in Santa Cruz.

Monetary contributions will be accepted until March 1st, the date on which the campaign will end with a huge Telethon in the cities of Santa Cruz, Cochabamba and La Paz. On that day medicines, food and household items will also be accepted at specified TV broadcast points.

Through the Telethon, “we hope to receive most of the donations with a big national show in La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz,” emphasized Pacheco.

Last year, Bs 1.7 million was raised in medicines, along with 78 truckloads of food and supplies, according to Pacheco. “Our goal is to help out as much as we can”, he added.
