UNICEF Representative Carel de Rooy introducing Jewel Aich and Arifa Zaman Moushumi as UNICEF Advocate for Child Rights.

For more than half a century, celebrities have helped to protect the rights and improve the lives of children and women around the world. By creating public awareness on issues affecting children’s lives and helping to leverage resources, the celebrities who work with UNICEF send a clear message to the public to uphold children’s rights.

Two of Bangladesh’s top celebrities – film actress Moushumi and magician Jewel Aich – have joined forces with UNICEF on 16 August 2011 as ‘UNICEF Advocate for Child Rights’ pledging to support the children of Bangladesh.

Being the UNICEF Advocate for promoting Child Rights, Moushumi and Jewel Aich will work with UNICEF Bangladesh with specific focus to create mass awareness on Violence against children and Malnutrition.
