Report on National Child Labour Survey 2002-2003
This survey by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics provides detailed data on the situation of child labour in Bangladesh. Key findings of the 300-page report include that there are 7.9 million working children aged 5-17 in Bangladesh, including 4.9 million aged 5-14 (14 per cent of the total child population). Most working children worked in the agricultural industry. Boys were much more likely to be engaged in child labour than girls.
