National Children Policy-1994
To protect children’s rights, the Children’s Act 1974 was enacted and the Bangladesh Children’s Academy established in 1976. Bangladesh was among the first few countries to sign and ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and is working to implement its provisions. Furthermore, the Government formulated and implemented a National Policy on Children to ensure the security, welfare and development of children in Bangladesh.
