Indicators for the MDGs: definitions, rationale, concept and sources
To monitor the eight MDGs and its 18 time-bound targets, the UN system and the Development Assistance Committee of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development came together under the Office of the Secretary-General and agreed on 48 quantitative indicators. The present handbook provides guidance on the definitions, rationale, concepts and sources of data for each of these indicators.
