Operational framework for pre-primary education
The Operational Framework for Pre-Primary Education outlines the Government of Bangladesh strategy to establish playgroups and preschools nationwide. Short-term goals aim at providing pre-primary education to all children aged four to five. The longer term strategy expands to include playgroup options for all children aged three to four.¶ Under the framework, pre-primary education is integrated with the government primary school system. Centres for early learning will be located within, or adjacent to, primary schools. The pre-primary curriculum will harmonize with Bangladesh’s primary school curriculum. NGOs and NGO-run schools are recognised as key partners.
