Primary school years
There are 16.5 million primary-school-aged children (6 to 10 years old) in Bangladesh. Achieving their right to education is an enormous challenge.
- Quality education
- Primary education is free for all children in Bangladesh, from grades one through five. By law, children between the ages of six and ten must attend school. However, the quality of education remains a barrier for education levels.
- Child labour
- Across Bangladesh, 13 per cent of children are engaged in child labour . These children have little or no access to education.
