The Office of UNICEF (UNITED NATIONS CHILDREN’S FUND) in Azerbaijan

is seeking candidate to fill the following position: Programme Assistant, GS5, Fixed-Term Appointment

Vacancy № 02/12)

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

§   Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses in a field related to the work of the organisation

§   Six years of progressively responsible clerical or administrative work, of which at least one year is closely related to support of programme activities

§   Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization

§   Strong organizational, analytical, negotiating  and communication skills

§   Computer skills, including internet navigation, and various office applications

§   Fluency in English and Azerbaijani

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/NATURE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

 

Ø  Take appropriate follow up action to maintain momentum of RWPs, including responding to incoming mail, taking notes and drafting routine / non-technical correspondence. Make travel arrangements as necessary. Assist in administrative process of government requests for assistance including contract preparation. Perform small-scale translation duties as required.

Ø  Organize relevant data and information related to RWP implementation, prepare and maintain records, documents and control plans for monitoring of project / programme implementation. This may involve field trips.

Ø  Assist in budget monitoring. Prepare reports on budget implementation.

Ø  Contribute to preparation of reports, project documents and submissions to government by providing information, preparing tables and drafting standard sections. Also prepare background information for use in discussions with partners. Participate in briefing and debriefing of project personnel.

Ø  Other duties as required by personnel being supported by the S/M.
