Vacancy Announcement: Child Protection Officer
University degree in the social sciences, law or other relevant field
Two years progressively responsible experience in programme design, administration, monitoring and evaluation or related field.
Technical knowledge of theories, principles and methods in the following: Strengthening child protection systems and partner capacity for protecting children against violence; in emergencies; in respect of harmful traditional practices; in improving justice for children and in strengthening social welfare systems. Use of data and indicators in child protection; Knowledge of global human rights issues, specifically relating to children and women; Methodology of programme/project management is required
Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization
Analytical and conceptual ability; communication skills
Planning and monitoring skills; ability to organize work and projects.
Computer skills, including internet navigation, and various office applications
Fluency in English and Azerbaijani
RESPONSIBILITIES/NATURE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Contribute towards the preparation of rolling CP Situation Analysis by compiling data, analyzing and evaluating information, and writing chapters of the Analysis
Assist in the conception, preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the CP component of the Country Programme. Analyze and evaluate data to ensure achievement of objectives and/or take corrective action when necessary to meet programme/project objectives. Assist in development and/or introduction of new approaches, methods and practices in project management and evaluation.
Prepare the CP sector documents for the Country Programme Strategy (CPS) and Plans of Action, Country Programme Summary Sheet.
Undertake field visits to monitor programmes, as well as conduct periodic programme reviews with government counterparts and other partners. Propose and/or undertake action on operational procedures affecting project implementation and management. Provide technical advice and assistance to government officials and other partners in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programme/projects.
Participate in the development of the CP sector workplan, ensure compliance to specific assigned objectives
Assist government authorities to plan and organize training programmes. Identify training needs and objectives for the purpose of capacity building, programme sustainability as well as promotion and advocacy
