VACANCY: (04/10) Programme Assistant (Grade: General Service – GS5)
Duration: 12 months under Temporary Appointment
Azeri national with relevant degree from a university or from an institution of equivalent status
At least three to five years experience in Public Health, Social Sciences, Youth development and participation, preferably in the context of the United Nations or other international organizations, and field work experience an asset.
Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization
Able to design and use simple system to follow up assigned programme/project activities and related matters of routine and of moderate scope and difficulty.
Computer skills, including internet navigation, and various office applications
Fluency in English and Azerbaijani
Responsibilities/ Nature of the Assignment:
Under the supervision of the Health Specialist and Youth Adolescent & Development Officer, the incumbent will implement the following:
To organize data and information, prepare and maintain records, documents and control plans for the monitoring of project/programme implementation. To undertake field trips monitoring.
To scrutinize plans of operations, exchanges of letters, and take appropriate follow-up action, take notes, draft a routine and non technical correspondence. To assist in the administrative process of government requests for assistance. To carry out specific programme /administrative support for programme/project activities
To contribute to the preparation of reports, project documents and submissions to governments by providing information, preparing tables and drafting relatively routine sections. To prepare background information for use in discussions with governments and other organizations. To participate in the briefing and debriefing of project personnel.
To assist in budgeting monitoring. Prepare the reports on budget implementation
Perform other duties, as required
