Angola: The rebuilding starts with Children

Luanda, Angola - With a generator hoisted atop his wiry 11-year old frame, Neco Kunga trudges across the Namibia-angola border. The morning's rains have turned the dirt into mud and Neco slips, then buckles under his load. Two other boys rush to help, but Neco shoos them away.

Protecting children in war remains a pending assignment

March 2005 - In my 25-year career with UNICEF I have never encountered a darker image than the one of a child experiencing war... Undoubtedly, sparing children from deprivation and destitution during and after conflict should be at the very top of the list of our priorities.
