The UNICEF-assisted awareness campaign, undertaking in collaboration with several NGOs, aims at sensitize the nation about domestic violence. A qualitative study on the extent of the problem has been publishes, along with a series of practical handbooks.

They aim at diverse audiences, offering guidance ranging from teaching adolescents about healthy relationships to advising workers how to help colleagues who suffer form domestic violence.

Teachers, legal professionals, journalists and counsellors are among those being trained on domestic violence. W also support Albania’s only shelter for abused women and girls, which offers refuge as well as emotional support and referrals to specialized services.

Corporal punishment is found both at home and at school. We work to prevent violence and teach alternative means of conflict resolution.

Teachers in 40 elementary schools have been trained in how to recognize and assist children facing violence at home or elsewhere, and over 3,000 students have participated in creative workshops on non-violent behaviour.
