South Korea launches UNITE FOR CHILDREN UNITE AGAINST AIDS

SEOUL, South Korea, 6 January, 2006 – The Seoul Hilton Hotel played host to some 700 distinguished guests, including government officials and UNICEF goodwill ambassadors, for the launch of the UNITE FOR CHILDREN  UNITE AGAINST AIDS campaign in South Korea.

At the launch, novelist Park Wan Suh and fashion designer Andre Kim, both UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, introduced a video presentation and report on children affected by HIV/AIDS. Other celebrities present at the event included UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and film star Ahn Sung Ki, and UNICEF special representatives and film stars Lee Yeong Ae and Lee Byung Hun.

The launch, which took place on 13 December, was followed by a charity fashion show organized by Andre Kim to raise money for children affected by HIV/AIDS. The show raised about $100,000.
