This classroom resource guide is designed to inform students about the world’s water resources and get them involved in preserving them. It takes an interdisciplinary and multicultural approach to explaining issues and concepts, such as water cycle, hydroelectricity and dams, water and health, and water and culture. Each chapter contains fun and educational activities, such as testing rainwater or distilling seawater.

This study highlights young people’s involvement in the implementation of a rural water supply and sanitation strategy in Lao PDR. Children and adolescents were engaged in activities, such as district-wide radio and television production and broadcasting, rural community theatre and schoolbased campaigns focusing on safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.
