UNICEF Executive Board
Field visits
Executive Board members have been taking part in field visits since 1993. The Executive Board has adopted a set of guidelines for these field visits. Under these guidelines, there are three visits to a programme country per year:
(1) by the members of the Bureau; (2) by members of the Executive Board; and (3) a joint visit by members of the Executive Boards of UNDP/UNFPA, UNICEF and WFP.
The countries to be visited each year are selected by the Bureau, in consultation with the secretariat (and with the bureaux of the other agencies for the joint visit).
