UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a Temporary Appointment for an Child Protection Specialist, P-3 in Senegal, Dakar.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

• Advanced university degree, preferably in social sciences, international relations, law or other relevant field.
• Five years of relevant work experience in child protection or other related field, including international work experience.
• Knowledge of theories, principles and methods in strengthening child protection systems and on social and behavior change related to harmful traditional practices.
• Experience working in programmes related to child marriage and/or FGM/C
• Knowledge of UNICEF’s global programmes on child marriage and FGM/C, particularly the Joint Programme, is an asset
• Experience in developing strategic partnerships
• Good knowledge of West and Central African context is an asset.
• Fluency in French and English is required; the knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese represents an additional asset.

• Fluency in both French and English is required. Please note that working knowledge of English and French is required for all assignments.
