Consultancy assignment: A qualitative and quantitative assessment of the political economy of the health sector in four nations of South and East Asia

Purpose:

UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a consultancy for a qualitative and quantitative assessment of the political economy of the health sector in four nations of South and East Asia.

A. KEY SKILLS, TECHNICAL BACKGROUND, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1. Advanced university degree in Public Health, Political or Social Sciences, or a related field.
2. At least ten years’ experience in public policy and systems analysis with:
a. Experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis and evaluation
b. Experience in the South and East Asian regions
c. Experience in political and economic analysis
d. Knowledge of the international development assistance sector
e. Knowledge of the United Nations system an asset
f. Experience in MNCH an asset
g. A pre-existing network of informants in at least two of the four countries an asset
3. Demonstrated skill in writing research reports
4. Demonstrated ability to work in multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships with diverse teams
