Internal Auditor (Investigation Specialist), P-3, Office of Internal Audit, New York Headquarters

UNICEF seeks an Internal Auditor (Investigation Specialist) to be based in its Office of Internal Audit, New York Headquarters.
Under the guidance of the Chief of the Investigation Unit (Senior Investigation Specialist), you will ensure the timely investigation of allegations of fraud, abuse of authority, mismanagement, harassment, (including sexual harassment), and/or retaliatory actions in or affecting UNICEF and makes recommendations on reported cases.
Your profile:
Advanced university degree or the equivalent qualification from a recognized national police academy for criminal investigations. Excellent conceptual and analytical abilities, including experience in the preparation of clear and concise reports.
At least five years (two of which at the international level) of proven professional work experience in analysing, planning, leading and implementing investigations into a combination of fraud, harassment and abuse cases. Work experience in developing countries and the ability to travel as necessary. Knowledge and experience in UN/UNICEF programme and/or operations activities is an asset.

Analytical skills: capacity to efficiently and effectively analyze complex information, and to abstract general conditions from specific information (analytical and conceptual thinking, technical knowledge, judgment).
Communication skills: capacity to communication effectively through speech and written work to present issues and ideas in a manner that leads to their acceptance and adoption (Communication, influence).
Team leadership: capacity to lead work groups in the planning and implementation of activities, and to provide technical assistance and coaching to team members. (team leadership, planning, setting standards and monitoring work, coaching).
Judgment: makes effective, realistic and impactful decisions based on logical inferences, experiences, and the consideration of implications, alternatives, and consequences.
Fluency in written and spoken English, and working knowledge of French or Spanish.
