Education Specialist (Construction), L-3, Lilongwe, Malawi

If you are a passionate and committed professional and want to make a lasting difference for children, the world's leading children's rights organization would like to hear from you. UNICEF seeks an Education Specialist (Construction) to be based in its Lilongwe office, Malawi.

Reporting to the Chief, Education and Youth Development, the Education Specialist (Construction) provides technical and management support in assessing, designing, implementing and monitoring construction of schools and any kind of construction sponsored by UNICEF throughout Malawi.

Your profile:
Advanced university degree/professional qualification in a building/construction related field of study.
At least five of national/international work experience in the building/construction industry, at senior management level.
Extensive experience with methods of construction that utilize intermediate technology and/or the full involvement of the community in the building work.
Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral form.
Proven skills in writing, negotiating and communication.
Good judgment, analytical skills, initiative, high sense of responsibility, tact and discretion and sensitive to different cultures.
Ability to organize and implement interviews and training.
Capacity to work independently.
Ability to work with the computer and to use Microsoft Office.
Supervisory ability.
Fluency in English or another UN language preferred.
