Human Resources Planning Specialist, P-3, Division of Human Resources, New York Headquarters

UNICEF seeks a Human Resources Planning Specialist to be based in its Division of Human Resources, New York Headquarters.

Under the supervision of the Chief, HR Planning and Operations, you will serve as Planning and HR Analytics Specialist and fulfill communication functions to support the section's mandate. You will conduct multi-dimensional HR data analysis, conduct and coordinate business process mapping and re-engineering activities, coordinate and implement the Division's communication strategy, support the Division's regular planning, monitoring and evaluation function, and participate and contribute in knowledge sharing initiatives.

Your profile:
Advanced university degree in social sciences, or other related field.
Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in human resources, monitoring and evaluation, statistical analysis, management, social development or other relevant area of work.
Demonstrated skills and experience in data and statistical analysis required. This includes a suite of software tools including using advanced MS Excel functions and a high degree of comfort and familiarity with working with data, databases, business information/reporting tools.
Good analytical, communication and advocacy skills (written and oral). Ability to craft concise and actionable documents and presentations for a range of audiences including Senior Management, HR practitioners and all staff.
Proven ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas as well as transfer knowledge and skills.
Ability to handle multiple assignments with competing deadlines. Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Flexibility to take on assignments at short notice or to change assignments at short notice.
Ability to exercize good judgment under pressure.
Ability to supervise and direct a team of professional, consultant and support staff.
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, network and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
Knowledge of United Nations or other international organizations; good understanding of world affairs, current events and international development issues.
Fluency in English and another UN language required.
