Maternal and Child Health Specialist, L-3, Nouakchott, Mauritania

If you are a passionate and committed professional and want to make a lasting difference for children, the world's leading children's rights organization would like to hear from you. UNICEF seeks a Maternal and Child Health Specialist to be based in its Nouakchott, Mauritania office.

Under the general guidance of the Chief of the Child Survival Section, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of assigned programmes/ project(s) within the Maternal and Child Health sector.

Your profile:
Advanced university degree in public health or a related technical field.
Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in programme management, monitoring, and evaluation, in a related field.
Current knowledge of the latest developments and technology, in related fields.
Analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills.
Supervisory and managerial skills.
Leadership and teamwork abilities.
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
Computer skills, including internet navigation and various office applications.
Fluency in English, French and another UN language required. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is an asset.
