Emergency Supply Chain Specialist, L-4, Dakar Regional Office, Senegal (TFT)

If you are a passionate and committed professional and want to make a lasting difference for children, the world's leading children's rights organization would like to hear from you. UNICEF seeks an Emergency Supply Chain Specialist to be based in its Dakar Regional Office, Senegal.
As Emergency Supply Chain Specialist:
• You will develop the logistics capacity of the UNICEF Country Offices and their partners with a focus on emergency preparedness.
• You will secure incorporation of logistics needs assessments and appropriate responses in the country and national programmes for emergency and non-emergency situations.
• You will define the supply chain element of the WCARO regional cluster strategies and support its implementation.

Your profile:
Advanced university degree in supply chain management or other academic qualifications in areas such as transport, warehousing or logistics, operations/management, and extensive relevant experience.
At least eight years of practical experience in managing complex and large supply chain operations involving planning, organizing, implementing and advisory support.
Varied logistics management experience in UNICEF or related field emergency and non-emergency programmes.
Relevant experience in capacity building with specific proven experience in training.
Current knowledge of latest developments and technology in the field.
Demonstrated complete understanding of how UNICEF and/or other UN Agencies and NGOs organize to provide logistical support, how they deliver supplies, handle transport and communication to Country Offices in non-emergency situations and in both conflict and non-conflict based emergencies, including natural disasters.
Ability to plan, coordinate, manage multiple activities and adjust to changing priorities under high stress and conflict situations.
Leadership and teamwork abilities.
Ability to implement training aimed to building capacity and team spirit.
Good interpersonal skills to ensure effective working relationship with partners and colleagues. Sensitivity to partners’ needs and expectations, maintaining open communications.
Innovative, able to take risks and able to lead or participate in change to keep operations working. Practical solution oriented.
Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
Fluency in French and English an absolute requirement.
